↓ Pre vs Idou…
One of them (if there isn’t any other beauty coming out first) will be mine… I hope.
A nearly dead Palm came out last January at CES with a much “synchronized” phone. On the other side SE just came out today with another precious precious precious cameraphone: the Idou (codename).
They really have nothing to do as one is more “business” and the other one is more “fun & media” oriented.
Both have Wi-fi, GPS and MMS capabilities, both have touchscreen with a nice fluid UI (from what I’ve seen up to now, and without WMobile veeeeeery important). Both are expected for the second quarter (at least in Europe) and will be very pricey.
However they have important differences…
On one side Palm has everything from the iPhone (ok not the same screen) plus … real multitasking, permanent internet synchronization for all your applications, physical keyboard, flash support….
On the other, SonyEricsson’s Idou may not have a multitouch screen, multitasking or that “sync” touch but it certainly has lots of media capabilities: expansion miniSD slot, 3,5″ screen with higher resolution, 12Mpx camera (which we’ll have to wait and see the quality of the sensor as so many pixels do nothing without a good optical sensor), probably better audio, video & battery capabilities… and for the rest of the specs we’ll have to wait.
So which one should I go for?
Considering I still have at least 3 more months to think about it, save money, learn, watch, compare, get informed about final specs…etc (business … media… business … media … business … media?)… just sit down and relax. Maybe HTC or Nokia come up with something better than the Touch Diamond / Pro 2 or the N86 / E75. (Samsung, LG, Acer…? I really doubt it).
See you @ Rennes
do you remember…?
and did you know about this Daft Punk’s Gap album?
We all want a 4th album!
