↓ The Magic of Google
I have to admit I’ve criticized Google quite a lot lately…. “They’re transforming into the new Microsoft…. watch out for the new monopole”… but they’ve just done it again…
Make us dream with the future of collaborative work. Some say it’s the e-mail taken a step further. It’s way more than that, they’ve taken the hottest mail (G one) + instant messaging + real time feeds + collaborative work + open platform + … so many more things that it’s hard to describe. But one thing is sure: Wave like most of Google’s products has this “Simplicity, user-friendly and welcoming” aura that makes it so attractive.
Wave is mostly about sharing (the most exciting product since… ), it’s what social networks couldn’t transform into… a serious working tool. Nor Facebook, Twitter (the two hottest right now) or even Linkedin thought about a practical way to make those “contacts” interact with each other apart from exchanging simple mails, telephone numbers or photos.
Now that the “share” or “social” experience is everywhere (Google Wave it’s right now the 2nd hottest / trendy topic on Twitter…) the next logical step was… “social work”.
The thing is that once again Google get’s in the way of Microsoft. Once again releasing a product that if it works fine … it could hurt Redmond’s headquarter so much: Office, hotmail and Messenger are in serious danger.
After challenging WinMobile with Android, IE with Chrome, now Wave… for when a Windows competitor?
I would so buy one even in beta.
See you @ Rennes

Dribble with their demo… (an hour and a half video so ok just skip to the end for the wow factor).
