↓ Techcrunch likes it social
[tweetmeme] Techcrunch, one of the leading technology & internet blogs have just given a big push to the ”social” trend with a relook of the basic social features. TC know the importance of a well shared post, that’s why things like social bookmarking, facebook connect or twitter updates are omnipresent in TC. This week they’ve decided to reach for the stars… and in order to do so they’ve partnered up with meebo.
Meebo seem to have finally found serious partners like IGN, CafeMom or Techcrhunch (they say more than 100 publishers). This web platform for IM on any network or site connects your users to MSN, Yahoo, AOL/AIM, MySpace, Facebook, Google Talk and many more. Something most portals and blogs are implementing as a way to boost the audience and expand the presence of their content elsewhere on the net (especially social networks).
The Meebo solution for TC? The meebo bar: a real time solution that intends to engage us all with the blog we’re visiting….
To start with any post can be shared instantly via a hidden top bar if you decide to drag & drop an image or video from TC. For now Facebook & Twitter (probably the two hottest sn on the net) are the chosen ones, giving it a simplistic and highly comprehensible use.
But the best is the bottom bar with more social capabilities: social bookmarking & instant messaging. You can connect to any IM client and automatically share any content via drag & drop once again (plus the obvious share button).
This is just the tip of the iceberg regarding social features; we’ll see what’s to come. Now that Facebook and friends control and track half of the planet’s data (even our most secret and private moments) by connecting millions of users, it’s just a matter of time before they impose themselves all over the internet, and if you don’t believe us take a look at this.
See you @ Rennes
