Presented a couple of days ago @ Computex and also @ All things Digital Windows 8 has gotten Microsoft back to the buzz once again. But will it last? If we focus on the All Things Digital’s D9 …

The Humour inside Microsoft

[tweetmeme] We already knew Microsoft’s advertising campaigns were rather horrible but we woke up today discovering that it can get even worst. A series of “Launch Parties” videos (6 in total) were uploaded to Youtube last month to …

I’d really like to know who came up with the “iTheory” or “iTrend”. I mean… every “cool” gadget or service has to have the Latin vowel “i” in minuscule before the service / product word? It used to …

↓ I don’t know what I am… a Mac or a PC?
[tweetmeme] Well I do, I certainly do but I’m not going to say ‘coss I would hurt some people’s feelings. Maybe the best for all of us would be to become Linux users (and not through the light Mac way)?
Windows 7 launched yesterday (finally) after so many viral videos and crazy propositions. One month ago we woke up horrified with a completely surrealistic initiative and marketing campaign by Microsoft… the Windows 7 Launch parties. Now that the fun is over we know that some of them didn’t go that well and others decided to throw alternative Windows 7 torrenting parties. In any case these haven’t been the only “clever” ideas Microsoft has had to get to the masses…
Burger King Japan started selling whoppers with 7 steaks in it (“because good things come in groups of 7″). The Microsoft Store (a bad copy of Apple’s Store designed by the same guys but filled with Teletubbies) opened also yesterday and if you’re willing to take a Windows 7 coffee after that supra-burger you might just visit the Windows 7 café in Paris.
Tasty menu huh?
But not all are negatives for Ballmer’s marketing team. We gladly discovered a new series of Win7 videos that add some irony to the previous Microsoft humor (although they’ve obviously kept the American-mainstream-style). The thing is that these new ads (I’m a PC and Win7 was my idea or the 7 second demos) give a slight fresh twist to the traditional cheesy, boring and even surrealistic ads Msft was delighting us with lately.
“I’m a PC” … a proud declaration (we could even consider a coming out) of all those “ashamed” PC users which for quite a few years have felt “forgotten” by the big M. Also a direct response to Apple’s long list of “I’m a Mac…” ads, which bwt had a little present prepared for the party: another pair of those ridicule comparisons (which are starting to feel old and repetitive) in the eternal & epic desktop battle.
But the best without any doubt is those Windows 7 torrenting parties… wish it was just as legal….
See you @ Madrid
