06/03/2010to07/03/2010

China hasn’t got only the biggest working labor or army, they also have a nice bunch of artist who are gaining international prestige year after year. Starting next Thursday (and going until March 21st 2010), 17 Beijing-based Chinese artists commissioned by Fang Zhannig and Menene Gras from Casa Asia will be exhibiting “Beijing Time” at the  Contemporary Creation Center from  Matadero Madrid.

The proposal is a panoramic and updated vision of contemporary Chinese creation including photography, video installations, cinema and performances. An exhibition envisioning the impact the Shanghai Expo intends to have next year. Such artists as Jin Shi, Wang Jianwei, Li Wei or Cang Xin will be exhibiting and adapting big formats for contents directly linked to the city. A city which intends to become an example of diversity, multicultural integration and rich identity.
